The library contains thousands of images representing thousands of unique plant and animal species from around the globe. Currently the site contains more than 4,000 images and more are added regulary.  

What you can do with our photos:

You can  download images for personal use and enjoyment without permission.    

What you can't do: 

Make money: You can't sell the photographs or use them in something you will sell, like a poster, advertisement, or book.

Students, schools, and libraries can use photos without our permission or attribution. 

Nonprofits and Educational Institutions 

We are pleased to offer our entire digital collection of thousands of nature photographs to nonprofits and educational institutions at no cost. Please contact us for details

Use or manipulation by AI is strictly prohibited. 

Desktop or Laptop Computer

Right-click on the image and select where you want to save it. If right-click does not work, drag and drop the image to your desktop.  Most photos have very good resolution. You can also take a screenshot, but it usually has a lower resolution than the actual file.

Smartphone or Tablet

If you use a smartphone or tablet, press and hold the image on your screen and save it to your photos. You can also take a screenshot, but it usually has a lower resolution than the actual file.

If you are unable to download an image or would like a higher resolution photo, please email us at info@exploringbiodiversity.org, and we will send you a digital file.
